The West plans to send 50 billion euros to support Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in a statement the day before.
"As part of our presidency of the G7, we are ready and active to help the Ukrainian government at its request to provide financial assistance in an appropriate amount. As you know, we are talking about a sum of about 50 billion euros. A large part of it has already been covered by the commitments, but there is still something missing. Our goal for the presidency of the G7 is to make it possible now," said Scholz.
The German chancellor also said that the day before he had video conversations with the presidents of the United States, France and Poland, with the prime ministers of Canada, Italy, Romania and Britain, as well as with EU representatives about the situation and a joint response to Russia's war against Ukraine. "We have clear principles - everyone agrees with them - Ukraine will continue to receive our full solidarity and support," Scholz said.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said after talks with Western partners that the Bundeswehr had exhausted the limit of arms supplies for Ukraine from its reserves.
