The EU will look at two main criteria for Ukraine's accession

The European Commission will rely on two main criteria when it comes to the European integration of Ukraine. It is an assessment of democracy and market economy in the country.

This was stated by Matti Maasikas, head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine in the air of a telethon.

"The European Commission will take into account two main criteria in the case of Ukraine: democracy and market economy. This fast-track process should be completed by June. The analysis will last until the summer and in June we hope to hear the assessment of democracy and market economy from European officials," Maasikas said.

We shall remind you that earlier it became known that Ukraine could receive the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union in June 2022.

Last week the European Commission handed Ukraine a questionnaire, which is one of the procedural steps to receive candidate status.
