During the occupation, Russian occupiers raped about 25 girls and women aged 14 to 24 in the basement of a house in Bucha, Kyiv region. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova in a commentary to the BBC.
"About 25 girls and women between the ages of 14 and 24 were systematically raped during the occupation in the basement of a house in Bucha. Nine of them are pregnant," Denisova said.
Denisova noted that Russian soldiers told them that they would rape them to the point that they would not want sexual contact with any man to prevent them from having Ukrainian children.
The ombudsman said they receive several calls to support hotlines and also receive information through channels on the Telegram messaging app.
"We got a call from a 25-year-old woman to tell us that her 16-year-old sister was raped in the street in front of her. She said they shouted, 'This will happen to every Nazi whore,' as they raped her sister," Denisova said.
She noted that it is not yet possible to estimate the extent of sexual crimes committed by Russian troops during the occupation.
"So far it is impossible because not everyone is willing to tell us what happened to them. Most of them are now seeking psychological support, so we can't record it as crimes unless they give us their testimony," Denisova said.
According to her, Ukraine wants the UN to create a special tribunal to try Vladimir Putin personally on charges of war crimes, including rape.
Denisova also reported that Russian non-humans are raping Ukrainian children in front of their parents.
There was a reported case of a pregnant girl and an old woman being raped by Russian soldiers in occupied territory.
