Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, 11.4 million Ukrainians have left their homes. Already 4.4 million citizens have left the country. This is reported by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. According to the UN, 90% of those who left were women and children.
At the same time, 7.1 million people are considered internally displaced persons, i.e. they remained in the country, but were forced to leave their homes. Every second displaced family has children.
It is indicated that the majority of refugees went to Poland (over 2.6 million), Romania (over 670 thousand) and Moldova (over 405 thousand). Then, as the UN specifies, many went on to Western countries.
