The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has described the operational situation on the fronts at the beginning of the 43-day war. According to the military, the occupiers are preparing an offensive operation in the east of Ukraine.
This is reported by the General Staff of the AFU.
"The main efforts of the occupiers focus on preparing for an offensive operation in the east of Ukraine, the purpose of which is to establish full control over the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions," the message reads.
The enemy continues active operations in the Slobozhansky, Donetsk, Yuzhnobuzhsky and Tavrichesky directions.
In the Slobozhansky direction the enemy continues to block the city of Kharkiv and carries out artillery shelling.
In the Donetsk and Tavrichesk directions the occupants continue artillery shelling of the Popasna settlement. The aim is to inflict fire on AFU units and resume the offensive on Rubizhne, Nizhnee and Novobakhmutovka. Also, the occupants unsuccessfully tried to break the defenses of Ukrainian military units near the village of Novotoshkovskoye.
In the Yuzhnobuzhskoe direction, the enemy is defending the previously occupied lines and taking measures to restore the combat effectiveness of its units. It continues to conduct tough filtration measures in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region.
Some of the withdrawn Russian units are housed in tent camps in a number of regions of the Russian Federation bordering Ukraine.
The servicemen refuse to take part in further combat operations on Ukrainian territory. The moral and psychological state of the said personnel is low and tends to deteriorate.
The command of the armed forces of the Russian Federation continues to seek solutions to the problem of replenishing the human resources of its units.
The military registration and enlistment offices of the Russian Federation began to intensify their work with the people released from military service after 2012 who have military professions like drivers, mechanic-drivers, reconnaissance officers as well as junior commanders.
The official reason for summoning them to the military registration and enlistment offices is to hold a three-month training session in the abovementioned military specialties.
Also on the territory of the so-called Transnistrian-Moldovan Republic, relevant propaganda work is carried out with the population having Russian citizenship.
The occupants continue to carry out violent actions against the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories. They are forcibly transporting the population of Mariupol to the temporarily occupied districts of the Donetsk Region.
The Air Force of the AFU shot down three aerial targets in the previous day: a cruise missile, an unmanned aerial vehicle, and a combat aircraft.
