US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has discussed with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg measures to strengthen the Alliance's eastern flank, as well as further steps for a joint response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine. An official statement from the U.S. State Department reveals this.
"The secretary of state reiterated the need for a strong and unified transatlantic response to the Russian government's war against Ukraine and welcomed ongoing steps to strengthen NATO's deterrence and defense capabilities," the agency noted.
Blinken reiterated the unwavering U.S. commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity amid Putin's war.
"The parties also discussed the large-scale humanitarian and military assistance that NATO allies are providing to Ukraine in bilateral formats," the US State Department added.
Recall, earlier it became known that Macron spoke for an hour with Putin, it was not possible to agree on a ceasefire. This is reported by Le Figaro, citing a statement from the Elysee Palace.
Macron held his eighth conversation with the Russian president. And although it, like all the previous ones, was inconclusive, the French president believes that there is no need to stop efforts.

"There is no way out but a cease-fire and good-faith negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. The president of the republic stands with Ukraine," the statement said.
