U.S. President Joe Biden believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin has his "back against the wall" - due to the lack of decisive success of the Russian army in Ukraine. According to Biden, Putin underestimated the unity of the Western world and the strength of Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression. He said this in Washington at a meeting with business representatives, reports Ekho Kavkaza.

At the same time, according to Biden, the more Putin is "pressed against the wall," the more aggressive tactics he can resort to. He gave an example of such aggressive tactics: Russia's use of hypersonic weapons which officially confirms that the US has already confirmed its use of such weapons.

According to Biden, Russia launched a hypersonic missile because "it's the only kind of weapon they can use with confidence in the result." Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated about two cases of use of hypersonic rockets "Kynzhal" against facilities in Ukraine.

The U.S. president also expressed fears that Russia might use chemical weapons in Ukraine. "When he starts talking about something he says NATO, Ukraine or the United States are going to do, it means he's getting ready to do it himself. I'm not kidding," Biden said. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine was allegedly preparing to stage a chemical weapons provocation. The US president also stressed that the United States had no chemical or biological weapons in Europe.

Biden's opinion is confirmed by the British Defense Ministry. They suggest that the occupier, by reporting the use of hypersonic missiles, is trying to "play down the lack of progress" in its ground campaign.

Reacting to Russia's claim that it has fired hypersonic missiles at targets in western Ukraine, the country's defense ministry notes: "If true, it was probably the Kinshals, an air-launched ballistic missile system based on the Iskander missile, which was already actively used by Russian forces during the attack on Ukraine."

Intelligence suggests that the use of the "Kinzhals" is unlikely to significantly affect the results of the Russian campaign in Ukraine.
