Since the start of the war that Russia started in Ukraine, 115 children have already been killed and more than 140 injured. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
"115 children have died in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. More than 140 wounded. Most of the victims in the Kyiv region - 58, Kharkiv - 36, Donetsk -29, Chernihiv - 30, Mykolaiv - 22, Zhytomyr - 15, Sumy - 14 and Kherson - 14 regions", - said in the message.
It was reported that a house was destroyed on March 19, 2022, due to shelling by the Russian military in the town of Rubizhne, Luhansk region. Rescuers pulled out two children from under the rubble. They received cardiopulmonary resuscitation, trying to save them, but in vain. The children did not survive.
"Another child and her mother were found under the rubble. Unfortunately, medics stated the death of the woman, and the child was saved. Her condition is stable and satisfactory," the report noted.
In addition, on March 19, 2022, a man and a 9-year-old boy were killed as a result of shelling of houses in the city of Kharkiv.
The UCP reports that 489 educational institutions were damaged due to regular bombing and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian Armed Forces. Sixty-nine of them were completely destroyed.
It is noted that these figures are not final, since it is not possible to inspect the locations of shelling in areas of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied territories.
Since the beginning of the war, 228 people have been killed in Kyiv, including 4 children.
