The number of Ukrainian children killed as a result of Russian aggression has increased

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, over 1,039 children have suffered because of Russian aggression. Of these, 358 have been killed and another 681 children have received injuries of varying degrees of severity.

 

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

 

Thus, on July 20, as a result of the mass shelling of Kharkiv by the occupants, a 13-year-old boy was killed and a 15-year-old girl was wounded.

 

During the recording of criminal offenses, it became known that a 16-year-old girl was wounded on June 19 as a result of artillery shelling of Ivanivka, Izyum district.

 

In addition, the monitoring platform of collecting evidence of crimes warcrimes.gov.ua found that the shelling of residential areas in Mariupol from February 24 to March 29 killed four children aged 7 to 15 years old.

 

The UCP notes that since the start of the war, the most children have been affected in:

 

Donetsk region - 361;

 

Kharkiv region - 194;

 

Kyiv region - 116;

 

Chernihiv region - 68;

 

Lugansk - 61;

 

Mykolaivska - 53;

 

Kherson oblast - 52;

 

Zaporizhia - 40.

 

"These figures are not final, as work is underway to establish them in places of active combat operations, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories," the ministry said.

 

At the same time, it is known that since the beginning of the war due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 2185 educational institutions have been damaged in Ukraine. Of these, 221 were completely destroyed.
