Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk says that the Ukrainian intelligence informs about the potential threat of Russia's use of chemical weapons.
"Russia is preparing for a terrible provocation by operating mythical 'biolaboratories' to blame the West. But all the things we do together with the Americans or the British are official and public. Nevertheless, Russia wants to use chemical weapons and now our population is studying what should be done in case of such an attack," Vereshchuk was quoted as saying by the Ministry's press service.
Also, commenting on the state of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, she noted that the issue of cease-fire and complete withdrawal of Russian armed formations from our territory is now at the top of the agenda.
Regarding the likelihood of Ukraine acquiring a neutral status, Vereshchuk recalled that Ukraine has had such a status for decades, but it did not help defend itself against Putin's aggression.
"So now we demand a new security agreement that would guarantee our security in the future. If it's called 'neutral status' - well, fine, but let it fully secure our state from such threats," she added.
