Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk appealed to the Parliament of Georgia not to keep silent about the situation of Russian aggression against Ukraine. This was reported by Stefanchuk on his page on Facebook.
"Gamarjoba, genatsvale! That is how I always addressed my Georgian colleagues in Parliament. How on earth did it happen, genatsvale, that today, in the midst of Russia's war against your brotherly Ukraine, you decided to develop trade with a country that attacked both us and you? Russia's decision to ease sanctions pressure on Georgia is sometimes not gratitude for the fact that official Tbilisi is not willing to fully support Ukraine?" - Stefanchuk appealed.
He urged the Georgian parliament to listen to the Georgian people who are coming out en masse in the squares in support of Ukraine.
"Is the removal of sanctions against 15 Georgian milk producers worth our thousand-year friendship, our joint struggle of many years, our common aspirations? Don't you see that the people of Georgia coming out in the squares of Georgian cities support Ukraine, not your murky arrangements. Have you really forgotten?" the words of the great Shot Rustaveli that "of enemies, the worst enemy is the one who behaved as a friend"?" said Stefanchuk.
"However, we know for a fact that Georgia is not only the Government. It is first and foremost Georgia's proud, fearless and freedom-loving people. Who will never allow themselves to remain silent when their fellow citizens are in trouble. And you, dear parliamentarians, must not remain silent. Because you are part of your people!" - he concluded.
