Since the start of the mass invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops, 28 children have become victims of the occupants, while 64 more have been injured. This was reported on March 4 by Darya Herasymchuk, advisor to the Ukrainian president's commissioner for children's rights and child rehabilitation, according to the website of the Ukrainian presidential office.
As of March 2, there was information about 21 dead Ukrainian children.
"Maternity hospitals, kindergartens, schools were destroyed. About 1.5 million children stay in the territories suffering from shelling and under siege, among them there are orphans and children with disabilities who need immediate help," Gerasimchuk said.
Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanyshyna noted that Ukraine has sent all necessary requests to international organizations to create special corridors for evacuation of civilians from the frontline territories.
