The U.S. does not support expelling Russia from the UN Security Council

The United States of America continues to believe that Russia is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, despite the issue raised by Ukraine that its membership is not based on documents. This was stated by White House Speaker Jen Psaki at a briefing at the White House.

Psaki, in particular, does not believe that Russia's membership in the Council is now in jeopardy.

"We don't see that happening," she stated.

Jen Psaki emphasized that the Biden administration is not against Russia's membership in the UN Security Council, but against Russia's actions. We understand they have a seat on the UN Security Council. But the problem is that they're distorting the UN Charter," the White House spokeswoman said.
