Russian occupation troops try to negotiate with the leadership of Energodar. They assured that it would be enough for them to briefly enter the city and take pictures at the nuclear facility. This was told in a video commentary by the head of NAEC Energoatom Peter Kotin.
"As of today, the situation is such that the Russian invaders there, in this city, came out with an attempt to negotiate with the city's leadership. They say that they have a task from their leadership to occupy the city of Energodar and the site of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, they even say that they only need to enter the city, take pictures in front of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant and send an appropriate report to their Russian army leadership, the Ministry for propaganda, when they control the city and the nuclear plant. After that they will kind of leave our facilities," Kotin said.
He stressed that nuclear facilities are not toys.
The aggressor's actions are a violation of the relevant conventions on nuclear safety and all the agreements that have been reached at the level of the IAEA, the UN.
"We hope, for all the senselessness behind this aggression, that the invaders have enough common sense not to fire heavy missiles in the direction of the nuclear plant," the NAEC head said.
He said that he addressed the IAEA with a request to establish a 30-kilometer control zone near all the nuclear facilities of Ukraine.
The day before, the Kafir troops retreated from the city of Energodar, where the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is located, after a meeting with local residents.
