"Acting insidiously, the occupiers continue to use the civilian population as a human shield by taking hostages. Contrary to the norms of International Humanitarian Law, they use high-powered cluster and fragmentation ammunition in their bombardments. The occupants actively use Grad, Smerch and Uragan multiple rocket launchers in artillery strikes on populated areas," the AFU General Staff reported.

On the Volyn direction, the enemy with the forces of up to 2 BTGr switched to defensive actions and is trying to hold at the line of Bigun, Ovruch, Pirozhki, Riznya, Ukrainka.
In Polesie, the occupants concentrated their main efforts in the Kiev direction, suffering losses in personnel and equipment, but do not abandon attempts to block Kiev from the north and north-west directions.
In the direction of Korosten the enemy suffered significant losses and halted. No offensive action is being taken.
On the Sivershchina, the enemy in the direction of CHERNIGOV-KIEV with up to 5 BTGr, 2 RTGr RViA is trying to hold on in the areas of Lubech, Mena. At the same time, 2 BTGr forces are advancing in the direction of Kotsyubynske-Goncharivske (Kiev).

On the Slobozhanshchina direction, enemy troops from the 1st Tank Army of the Russian Armed Forces, 6th and 20th Combined Arms Army, after illegally crossing the Ukrainian state border, are stopped at the line near the settlements of Akhtyrka, BOGODUKHOV, CHUGUEV, SHEVCHENKOV.
In the Sumy direction, up to two BTGr from the 200 Omsk brigade (14 AK PF) and 90 (up to two BTGr) continue to besiege the settlements of Sumy, Lebedin and Akhtyrka.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy, with up to six BTGr, was forced to switch to defense. Up to three BTGr are likely to make another attempt to encircle Kharkiv from the south.
In the Svatovsk direction with up to two BTGr, it is likely to attempt an offensive in the direction of Izyum and gain a foothold in any lines. The main reason for such actions is the continuation of the offensive in the directions of Dnieper and Zaporizhzhya.
In the Donbas, Mariupol holds firm, and the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions are inaccessible to the enemy.
In the Tauris direction, the enemy introduced part of its operational reserves, up to BTGr, and is trying to continue its offensive in the direction of Zaporizhia, with part of its forces advancing on Mariupol.
The naval groups of the Black Sea Fleet, the Northern Fleet and the Baltic Fleet are actively carrying out demonstration actions.
In the General Staff of the AFU noted that in the Sumy region, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the advance group came to the lines along the state border in the Sumy region.
"The demoralized enemy continues to suffer losses," the General Staff added.
But all of Ukraine's defense lines have been preserved, and the enemy has no success in any of its strategic directions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on March 3.
