Big Threat that Russia Will Use Dipfeck on Ukraine's Surrender - Center for Countering Disinformation

In the next few days, social networks may begin to spread fake information that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the surrender of Ukraine. The Center for Countering Disinformation reports that such promulgated information will be fake, and the goal is to disorient, sow panic, break citizens, and induce our troops to surrender.

"Imagine seeing Volodymyr Zelensky on TV making a statement about surrender. You see him, you hear him - which means it's true. But it's not true. It's dipfake technology," the message says.

It explains that such a video would not be real, but created through machine learning algorithms. Videos made through such technology are nearly impossible to distinguish from the real thing.

"Know this - it's fake! Its purpose is to disorient, sow panic, break the citizens and induce our troops to surrender. Rest assured - Ukraine will not surrender! All Russia has to do is to make up a fake victory, shut down the Internet and all contacts with the other world," the department added.
