As a result of the shelling of the occupants some of the public buildings and residential quarters of Melitopol were destroyed, the chairman of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov said on the air of the Rada TV channel.
"There are part of the destroyed public buildings and part of the destroyed residential quarters. The southern part of the city and the area of Novy Melitopol bordered directly on the military base. There are affected houses, more than 30 houses as of today, either completely destroyed or completely unusable.
Today we have managed to completely re-interpret all the houses, some have been partially restored. Some families have been resettled. Therefore, the situation is quite difficult", - said the head of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov on the air of the Rada TV channel.
He also added that in recent days the occupants are almost not visible around the city, but military equipment is present.
"As for looting and everything else, it is very difficult to understand who is doing it. Looting is a huge problem for the city of Melitopol today and it's a big disaster," Ivan Fedorov said.
Meanwhile, Melitopol residents came out right now for a mass rally against the occupiers.
