Mayor of Chernihiv: the city will not surrender to anyone

The mayor of Chernihiv, Vladyslav Atroshenko, appealed to citizens who have weapons to get tasks to defend the city. He assured that "we will not surrender the city to anyone," writes RBC-Ukraine.

"Men with weapons, capable of protecting our city with their weapons, please pull up to the Vereny-2 location to receive tasks. Today everything we can do, we are doing to organize the defense of the city. And we will not surrender the city to anyone. We are told history - we will show history. If someone gets lost and is looking for a way out to Russia - we will tell him where it is," Atroshenko said.

All Chernigov civilians Atroshenko urged to take cover.

"Dear Chernihiv residents, I ask everyone to remain calm. Civilians, please take cover. Preferably all in shelters. Kindness and health! Glory to Ukraine!", - said the mayor of Chernihiv.

Earlier it was reported that Chernihiv was shelled from "Grad".
