The North Atlantic Alliance is convening an urgent summit via video link to decide on further action.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, reports European Pravda.
"We are convening a virtual NATO summit for tomorrow (February 25) to decide on the way forward," he said.
Stoltenberg made it clear that he expects a long confrontation: "The Kremlin's goal to re-establish spheres of influence is the new normal of our security."
He said the Alliance has activated a pre-developed defense plan that facilitates the movement of troops, including a rapid reaction force that also includes more than 100 aircraft and 120 ships. Stoltenberg noted NATO's readiness to repel an attack should Russia go ahead and attack states under NATO protection. "There is no room for difference - an attack on one of us would be an attack on all of us."
