Verkhovna Rada has voted - a state of emergency has been introduced in Ukraine (video)

Ukraine introduces a state of emergency regime except for Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where a separate legal regime is already in effect. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the relevant bill at an extraordinary meeting.

The relevant decision was supported by 335 people's deputies. According to the decree of the President of Ukraine, which was supported by the Rada, the state of emergency is introduced throughout the territory of Ukraine (except for Lugansk and Donetsk regions, and temporarily occupied Crimea) from 00:00 a.m. February 24 for a period of 30 days.

It should be noted that after the registration of the bill, people's deputies reported that the text of the decree does not fully correspond to what was agreed during political consultations.

After that, the Rada sent Zelenskyy a letter with proposals to change the decree on the introduction of the state of emergency in Ukraine.

In particular, discussions took place on the following items:

- inspection of citizens and property;

- A ban on the production and distribution of information materials that could destabilize the situation;

- regulation of television and radio centers.

Later, the updated decree of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski on the introduction of the state of emergency removed almost all controversial points.

The ban on the production and distribution of informational materials that could destabilize the situation remained.

As a reminder, today the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to introduce a state of emergency, except for Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where a separate legal regime is already in effect.

It was reported that after the decision of the NSDC today the VR may vote for the introduction of the state of emergency in some regions.

After that, the website of the VR published a registered draft presidential decree on the introduction of the state of emergency and a draft law on the adoption of this decree.
