NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg condemned Russia's decision to recognize the independence of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk "people's republics. He urged Moscow to refrain from fomenting the conflict.
He wrote this on Twitter.
"I condemn Russia's recognition of Donetsk and Lugansk in Ukraine. This undermines efforts to resolve the conflict and violates the Minsk agreements," Stoltenberg wrote.
According to him, NATO supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He urged Moscow to stop fomenting the conflict and choose a diplomatic solution.
