Russia's invasion of Ukraine could happen at any moment, - Blinken

United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that Russia can launch a new invasion of Ukraine at any moment. This could happen, including before the end of the Olympic Games in Beijing.

This was reported by Reuters.

"Russia has sent additional forces to the border with Ukraine and may launch an invasion at any time, particularly during the Winter Olympics," Blinken suggested.

He noted that Washington continues to downsize its embassy in Ukraine and repeated the State Department's call for U.S. citizens to leave Ukraine immediately.

"Simply put, we continue to see very troubling signs of Russian escalation, including the arrival of new forces to the border with Ukraine. As we said earlier, we are in a situation where an invasion could begin at any time, and to be clear, that includes a period during the Olympics," Blinken summarized.

As a reminder, the US company Maxar Technologies released satellite images showing that Russia continues to relocate troops and equipment to occupied Crimea and Belarus, where exercises have been going on since yesterday.
