New Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine - 2023-2026

Representatives of the Council of Europe and the relevant public authorities of Ukraine discussed proposals for a new action plan of the Council of Europe for Ukraine in 2023-2026. This is reported by the UNN with reference to the portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

During the meeting, Ukrainian and European experts analyzed the state of implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine for 2018-2022, in particular the implementation of projects to strengthen European human rights standards in Ukraine, the protection of the rights of internally displaced persons and national minorities, combating violence against women and children.

The parties paid special attention to criminal justice reform, judicial reform, decentralization, the fight against cybercrime and ways to improve electoral processes in Ukraine.

They also discussed the proposals for the preparation of the new Plan of Action of the Council of Europe for Ukraine for the years 2023-2026, which should be finalized by the end of the year.

The Action Plans of the Council of Europe for Ukraine are strategic documents, implemented since 2005 to help Ukraine to perform its duties as a member state of the Council of Europe, as well as the country's compliance with international legal standards for the Association Agreement with the EU.
