Volodymyr Zelensky has received advisers to the leaders of France and Germany, who have arrived in Kyiv for talks with the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, the official internet representation of the Ukrainian President reports.

German Chancellor's Foreign Policy Adviser Jens Pletner and French Presidential Diplomatic Adviser Emmanuel Bonn visited Kyiv in accordance with the preliminary agreements reached during a video conference on January 4 this year, following talks that they held in Moscow - as part of the continuation of the dialogue in the Normandy format.

There was a broad exchange of views on ways to intensify joint work within the Normandy format.

President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the efforts that Ukraine's partners in the Normandy format continue to make for the practical implementation of the leaders' agreements reached during the Normandy Four summit in Paris in December 2019.

"The time has come for substantive agreement to end the conflict, and we are ready for the necessary decisions during the new summit of the leaders of the four countries," the head of state stressed.

The parties agreed to continue to maintain contacts within the Normandy format at the level of advisers in order to agree on the modalities of the organization of the next summit of the leaders of the Normandy format.

"Ukraine, France and Germany are making active efforts to resume productive work in the Normandy format at different levels. We expect that the Russian side will support these efforts and facilitate progress in the implementation of the decisions of the Paris summit of the Normandy quartet. Holding another summit in the Normandy format would give a serious boost to the peace settlement process," Yermak said.

Ukraine handed over to the German and French advisers of the leaders of the Normandy format countries detailed information on the implementation by the parties of the Minsk agreements and the decisions of the last summit in 2019.

We recall that the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak met with the advisor to the German Chancellor and the diplomatic advisor to the French President the day before.
