Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a telephone conversation with his Kazakh counterpart Mukhtar Tleuberdi on Monday that China is ready to increase cooperation with Kazakhstan to ensure the political security of the two countries and "to prevent the color revolutions. Wang Wenbin, an official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said this at a briefing.
"The Chinese side is ready to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan at the level of law enforcement and security services. We intend to step up bilateral cooperation to suppress external interference, protect the national political systems and security of the two countries and prevent any attempts to organize color revolutions," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Beijing intends to strengthen cooperation with the Kazakh government to implement "large-scale security programs." The Chinese Foreign Ministry also expressed hope that Kazakhstan will protect Chinese citizens on its territory.
"China is Kazakhstan's neighbor and our country, more than anyone else, hopes to maintain long-term stability in Central Asia," he concluded.
Chinese authorities believe in the successful restoration of public security and stability in Kazakhstan under the leadership of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
"I am confident that under the leadership of President Tokayev, Kazakhstan will be able to fully restore public security and stability," he said.
According to the Chinese diplomat, the Chinese government and people "express their firm solidarity" with the people and leadership of Kazakhstan.
