Ukraine has recorded a record population outflow over the past 11 years

During 10 months of 2021 over 600 thousand Ukrainians left Ukraine and still haven't returned. This is the highest figure for the last 11 years. This is evidenced by the data of the service opendatabot.

"Judging by the indicators of 2021, we can expect that if there is not a mass return of Ukrainians home in November-December, the cumulative negative balance for 11 years will be more than 3.3 million people," - said the company.

A total of 2.6 million citizens of Ukraine did not return home from 2011 to 2020, according to the service.

The company noted that in the first half of the "tens" Ukraine was losing about half a million people annually. After 2014, this number decreased, however, the count was still in the hundreds of thousands.

"The only year with a positive balance was the coronavirus 2020, when there were 80 thousand more Ukrainians returning home than leaving," the report said.
