The European Union will allocate another €30 million to democratic forces in Belarus, including to support independent media. This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, after a meeting on Sunday evening with the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Svetlana Tihanovskaya.
"Today we are increasing our support with an additional 30 million euros for youth, independent media, small and medium enterprises in exile and cultural figures," von der Leyen wrote on her Twitter account on Sunday, December 12.
According to her, the EU supports the Belarusian people in their struggle for freedom and democracy.
