Monastyrsky about the accident near Chernihiv: violation of traffic rules is paid not only in fines, but also in life

Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrskyi responded to the road accident near Chernihiv, which killed at least 13 people. He urged drivers to comply with the rules of the road. The minister said this on his Facebook page.

He noted that the driver of the truck, violating traffic rules, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a minibus. Police are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy and making the necessary investigative actions.

"Thirteen people have died as a result of the accident so far. Others are in serious condition," he noted.

He urged everyone to carefully observe the rules of the road.

"For their violation is paid not only with fines, but also with the lives of innocent people," said the minister.

Monastyrsky said the police will severely punish drivers and owners of commercial vehicles who drive on "bald tires" or use wheels with unacceptable defects to save money.

"And also those who exceed the speed limit and maneuvering rules without thinking about their safety or the safety of other road users," he added.
