The second Panamax-class vessel with 66,000 tons of American coal for DTEK Energy's thermal power plant arrived in Ukraine at the 20th berth of the Yuzhny seaport (operator TransInvestService). This was reported by the communications department of DTEK Energy Holding.
"In the next few days, the coal will replenish the reserves of our thermal power plants and will ensure the stability of the Ukrainian energy system during peak periods," DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Saleyev said.
According to the statement, DTEK has contracted for 7 shiploads of coal from the USA and Colombia with a total volume of 470,000 tons. The first of them, contracted for Centrenergo, arrived at the end of November, three more are expected during December, and the rest in January.
The company said the total volume of coal contracted to date from Poland, Kazakhstan and the United States is 0.9 million tons.
