NABU exchanged experience with European colleagues in combating corruption

Strengthening interaction between anti-corruption institutions using Europol tools, developing a reliable system of whistleblower protection, sharing best practices of corruption detection in the public sector and digitalization of public services are the main recommendations of the annual EPAC/EACN* declaration.The news is posted on the NABU website.

 

The declaration was adopted at the 20th Annual EPAC/EACN Professional Conference held in Vilnius (Republic of Lithuania) on December 1-2, 2021. Representatives of the NABU, which has been a member of EPAC - European Partners Against Corruption since 2015, also voted for the document.

 

Conference participants discussed the results of 20 years of anti-corruption work. In particular, they noted the establishment in 2021 of the European Union Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) and the Europol Financial and Economic Center (EFECC).

 

The meeting brought together over 120 participants from 29 European countries, representing 54 organizations. The conference was initiated by the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania. The National Bureau has been cooperating with it since 2016.
