On November 22, 2021 Minister of Education and Science Sergei Shkarlet together with the rectors of higher educational institutions of Ukraine is on a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Today, Sergei Shkarlett has already met with the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Toshkulov and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports, Rector of the International Silk Road Tourism University Aziz Abduhakimov.

The Minister discussed with Abdukodir Toshkulov further opportunities for international cooperation in education and science.

"Our experience in reforming vocational education turned out to be important for our colleagues from Uzbekistan. It is pleasant to note that Ukraine's achievements are eager to imitate and implement in other countries. Creation of the Presidential University in Ukraine was one of the important issues discussed during the visit, as a similar project is implemented in Uzbekistan. The main purpose of such measures is introduction of high-quality education at a new level", said Sergei Shkarlett.

The meeting addressed issues of integration into education, the exchange of teachers and the implementation of scientific research between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

During the meeting the development of student tourism, which is an important tool for the formation of personality and a positive influence on the formation of competitive specialists, was discussed.

"The Republic of Uzbekistan is a strategic partner in attracting students and promoting institutions of higher education in Ukraine. The country is interested in opening branches of Ukrainian universities as well as creating joint programs that will contribute to the development of the economy of both countries," - said Sergei Shkarlett.
