The EU allocated 700,000 euros to help migrants on the border with Poland

The European Union has allocated 700,000 euros for humanitarian assistance to migrants on the border of Poland and Belarus. Of these funds 200 000 Euros will go to the Belarusian Red Cross.This is reported on the site of the European Commission.

It is reported that the Red Cross and Red Crescent will receive 200,000 euros to transfer funds to the Belarusian Red Cross to provide necessary humanitarian aid, including food, hygiene kits, blankets, and first-aid kits.

The European Union has also mobilized an additional 500,000 euros for humanitarian funding. The use of these funds is currently being discussed with humanitarian partner organizations.

"The EU supports its humanitarian partners to alleviate the suffering of people stranded at the border and in other parts of Belarus. I call for continued access by humanitarian organizations on both sides to reach this large group of refugees and migrants and provide them with urgent assistance," said Janez Lenarčič, European Commissioner for Crisis Management.
