German Chancellor Angela Merkel will work on the organization of a meeting in the Normandy format every day until her last day in office.
German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen said this in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
«With our French colleagues, we are already working very hard on this possibility of having a meeting at the level of foreign ministers in the Normandy format. Of course, this is really difficult. At the moment, there are no clear ideas yet as to when it could happen,» Feldgusen said.
As the ambassador notes, there are also discussions now about a meeting with both the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
«The Federal Chancellor said while in Kiev that she would work on organizing this meeting every day until her last day in office,» Feldgusen said at a conference in Kiev on Monday.
As a reminder, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently said that in order to restore contacts of the Normandy quartet, Russia first wants the implementation of previous decisions of the Normandy format.
