The topic of today's conversation was the commitments under the IMF program and their implementation, G7 ambassadors said in a statement.
«During the meeting with the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Shevchenko, G7 ambassadors heard about the NBU's efforts to ensure the fulfillment of obligations under the IMF program and plans to continue reforming the banking sector,» G7 officials said.
The statement also said that the ambassadors: «stressed the importance of good corporate governance in the public banking sector, in line with OECD recommendations, and noted that they continue to support a strong independent NBU, contributing to Ukraine's economic stability and prosperity».
Prior to that, Denis Shmygal said that the preparation of a memorandum with the IMF is in the final stages. The memorandum provides for the extension of the partner program Stand-by, designed for 18 months.
