Ukrzaliznytsia has announced a tender in the Prozorro system for the purchase of 80 new suburban and regional trains, the total cost of which is UAH 31.4 billion. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Ukrzaliznytsia has stated that it is beginning the largest-scale renewal of its train fleet since independence. The carrier plans to purchase 80 new suburban and regional trains by 2026. The Prozorro system indicates a total acquisition cost of UAH 31.4 billion.
«In total, the company plans to purchase 30 AC electric trains and 30 DC electric trains for suburban transportation. It will also be purchased. 20 AC trains for regional routes. The total amount of procurement is over UAH 31.4 billion. Thus, 60 purchased trains will be involved in City Express projects, and another 20 are planned to be launched on existing and new regional routes», the statement reads.
Applications for participation in the tender will be accepted until November 1, 2021. The auction will take place on December 7. Cooperation with the winner is designed for 5 years, so the supply of trains is planned in batches until 2026.
Ukrzaliznytsia has invited Siemens, Stadler, Alstom, Pesa, Skoda and Kryukivka Carriage Plant to participate in the tender.
The company includes Donetsk, Lviv, Odessa, South, South-West and Dnieper railways, as well as other enterprises and organizations of a single production and technological complex that provide transportation of goods and passengers.
