Ukraine's ambassador to Germany, Oleksii Makeiev, has called on the international community to protect the west of Ukraine from possible Russian air attacks that extend beyond the country's borders. He expressed his thoughts in an interview with Der Standard, pointing out the need to establish defense systems in neighboring countries, similar to the protection against Iranian attacks on Israel.
Makeiev emphasized that Ukraine is becoming the target of constant Russian air strikes, which threaten not only the country's security but also the European Union as a whole.
He assured that technically and legally, the protection of western Ukraine's airspace from external threats is real and legal under international law, in particular, the UN Charter.
