Consequences of the missile attack in Odesa: increase in the number of victims (UPDATED)

In Odesa, the destruction of civilian infrastructure was recorded as a result of a missile attack by Russian troops on the evening of May 1. The mayor's office presented a video showing the consequences of the attack. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Gennadiy Trukhanov, and the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper.

 

 

The statement said that Odesa was again attacked by ballistic missiles. This led to serious destruction of civilian infrastructure and also caused large-scale fires, which are being fought by rescuers.


According to the RMA, the number of casualties from the missile strike increased to 14 people, although 13 were reported earlier.

 

 

One of the victims was hospitalized in medium-serious condition.


Kiper confirmed that all the victims were provided with the necessary assistance on the spot. At the same time, law enforcement officers are documenting a new crime by the Russian military against civilians.


The shelling damaged the city's civilian infrastructure, including the warehouse of the post office.


Kiper added that the fire is being extinguished, and windows have been smashed in the surrounding buildings.


Trukhanov said that nearby residential buildings are being checked for damaged windows and doors.


Later, the State Emergency Service of Odesa region also showed a video of the consequences of the missile attack on Odesa.

 

 

It is noted that 68 rescuers, including psychologists, and 19 units of equipment were involved in providing assistance.
