Russian troops attacked Odesa with drones: there are victims and destruction

On the night of April 23, Russian troops attacked Odesa with drones. There are destructions and casualties in the city.


"As a result of an enemy attack in the residential sector of Odesa, the houses of citizens were damaged and a fire broke out. Emergency services are working to eliminate the consequences. Preliminarily, there are 7 victims," the Defense Forces of the South reported.


Mayor Gennady Trukhanov added that at least 14 apartments were damaged. The State Emergency Service, Municipal Guard and other emergency services were working at the scene.


"We already know about 7 victims. There have been no deaths so far. Peresypsky district administration is deploying an operational headquarters to resettle and provide assistance to the affected citizens of Odesa. According to the updated data, 34 people were rescued, including 3 children," the statement said.

 

 

Later, the head of the Odesa RMA, Oleh Kiper, released updated information: 9 people were injured in the night attack in the city. Four of them are children aged 12 and 9, and two babies who are under one year old.


"Three adults were hospitalized in the city's medical institutions in moderate condition, two more refused to be hospitalized, having received all the necessary assistance on the spot. Four children are also in moderate condition in the hospital. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance to the victims," Kiper assured.


According to the National Police, civilian infrastructure was damaged, including residential buildings, shops, and cars. One two-storey apartment building was partially destroyed, followed by a fire that was quickly extinguished by firefighters. 


According to the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, last night Russian troops directed several waves of Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs across the southern regions. The industrial and port infrastructure of the region was targeted.


The Defense Forces of the South managed to shoot down 11 barrage shells in the operational area: 7 in Odesa region and 4 in Mykolaiv region.
