US aid will not lead to a breakthrough for AFU at the front, but will allow to gradually push back Russians, - Democratic Senator Reed

Funding from the United States will not provide a dramatic breakthrough for the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front, but it will allow them to gradually push back the Russians. This was stated by Chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee Jack Reed, Voice of America reports.

According to the Democratic senator, if American lawmakers approve additional aid for Ukraine, the Ukrainian army "will slowly push back the Russians for the rest of the year, not dramatically."

Reed also suggests that with additional US aid, the Ukrainian Armed Forces could go on the offensive in 2025.

"Next year, in 2025, there should be a new offensive operation, which I hope will allow them to establish fire control over Crimea... This will make the situation much more difficult for the Russians and hopefully force them to the negotiating table," the senator emphasized.

Reed called on US lawmakers to approve additional funding for Ukraine, emphasizing that "we have to literally give them the weapons, artillery and ammunition to get the job done."
