European Commission starts reviewing Ukraine's financial laws for compliance with EU standards

The European Commission's official screening of Ukraine in relation to the negotiated Title 9 "Financial Services" started on March 14. The screening involves analyzing the degree of compliance of national legislation with EU acts. This was reported by the NBU press service.

The screening includes two stages: explanatory meetings, during which representatives of the European Commission highlight key EU legal acts and answer questions from the Ukrainian side, and bilateral meetings, during which Ukraine presents information on the status of implementation of EU legislation and plans for its harmonization with national legislation.

Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Serhiy Nikolaychuk emphasized that Ukraine is actively working to bring its financial sector regulation in line with EU standards.

He also noted that the Ukrainian side has sent a list of questions regarding the implementation of the provisions of the EU acts into national legislation and hopes to receive the necessary clarifications to move forward in this direction.
