President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and Head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov. The corresponding decrees were published on the President's website.
The decrees are dated yesterday, but they appeared on the president's website only today.
The documents state that Zaluzhnyi will receive the Hero of Ukraine star for "outstanding personal merits in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people."
Budanov will receive a gold star for "personal courage and heroism shown in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people."

Zelensky published a video of how he awarded orders and conferred titles on the military yesterday. In particular, Zaluzhnyi and Budanov were awarded the title of Heroes of Ukraine. The event was attended by the new Commander-in-Chief, Syrskyi.
