Approximately 30 thousand people join the army as volunteers in Russia every month - GUR

Russia mobilizes about 30,000 people a month - about 1,000-1,100 daily. Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defense Ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence, said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

He noted that mobilization in the Russian Federation continues, but it is not carried out en masse, as it was in October-December 2022.

"However, in fact, Russians have a motivation to join the army - it is a salary, especially in crisis regions where there are either low salaries or no jobs at all," Skibitskyi said.

The GUR representative said that captured Russians admit that they joined the army because of money.

"They are different. It all depends on where the unit is located and whether it is engaged in combat. But the Russians have a clear understanding that a day of combat is a plus of 8,000 rubles to their salary. Speaking in absolute numbers, this is approximately 220-250,000 rubles per month. This is for those who are directly involved in the fighting on the front line," emphasized Skibitskyi.
