The European Union plans to remove three Russian businessmen from its sanctions list: Alexander Shulgin, Grigory Berezkin and Farhad Akhmedov. This was reported by Reuters on Tuesday, September 12.

"The European Union will not extend sanctions against the three individuals on the list over Russia's conflict in Ukraine when this year's measures expire this week," the publication said.

The agency notes that the EU needs the unanimity of all 27 member states to impose sanctions, which are renewed every six months. The next batch expires on September 15.
