Zelensky: Reznikov's dismissal is not related to embezzlement of funds from Western partners

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the dismissal of Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov and corruption in the country in an interview with CNN. Zelensky stated that Reznikov's dismissal was not related to the embezzlement of funds provided by Western partners.

Asked whether he is able to make changes in the fight against corruption and lead Ukraine to a "new path," Zelensky stressed that he has no other choice and does not want to compromise with corrupt officials.

"I have no alternative here, and I don't want one. We don't want to have any compromises with any corrupt people, not only corrupt people, but even with thoughts about it," the country's leader said.

The journalist asked whether Reznikov's dismissal was related to the corruption investigation in the first year of the war. In response, Zelensky clarified that these cases were not related to the assistance provided by Ukraine's partner countries.

"First of all, you should know that all these cases are not related to the assistance from our partners," the president said.

Zelensky emphasized that these are purely Ukrainian situations that are not currently a priority for him.

"These are purely Ukrainian cases that do not matter to me now," the head of state said.
