The Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of sanctions against Iran for 50 years

The Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of sanctions against Iran for 50 years. In particular, for providing Russia with drones and weapons for shelling Ukrainian cities.

People's deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko reports this in Telegram.

328 parliamentarians supported the introduction of sanctions against the Islamic State.

 Sanctions against Iran

Over the weekend, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted to the Council a draft resolution on the introduction of sanctions against Iran for half a century. At the same time, it was emphasized that the decision to introduce restrictions was supported by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

 Russia's aid to Iran

After the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine, Iran has long denied that it supplies drones of the Shahed model to the aggressor country. Tehran later said it had provided a small number of drones "prior to the start of the conflict." In turn, the Kremlin actively uses Iranian drones to attack Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.

In addition, Russia does not deny that it uses Shahed drones and has expressed a desire to increase its own production.
