After the explosion, a fire broke out there. This was reported by Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol.
"There is another explosion and fire in the Kalmius district near Ilyich. The 8th gate district (the intersection of Nikopolsky and Metalurgi avenues). We are finding out the details," he said.
Andryushchenko also published a photo showing smoke rising over the place where the explosion occurred.
Meanwhile, the Mariupol. Resistance website added details of the event.
"At approximately 4:10 p.m., a demining machine was rushing like crazy along the tram lines along Metalurgiv in the direction of the eighth gate. Now something good is burning in Ilyich," the post states.
