Joe Biden said he is not going to contact the Russian dictator anytime soon, but he is willing to talk to Putin if he is interested in ending the war.
This is reported by the BBC.
The US president stressed that he would talk to Putin only after consulting with his NATO allies.
"I have no immediate plans to contact Putin. I am willing to talk to him if he shows any interest in finding a way to end the war. So far, he hasn't done it," Biden said at a press conference in the White House after talks with Emmanuel Macron.
The press secretary of the Russian leader Peskov, in turn, said that no contacts with the US administration are planned until the end of the year.
