Former US President Donald Trump plans to officially announce his intention to run for the presidency on November 15, The Daily Beast reports citing a source familiar with the situation.

 "The president is going to make a special announcement on Tuesday," a source told The Daily Beast. Trump will announce his intention to run at 9:00 p.m. local time at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, he said.

 Western media note that after the US midterm elections, which did not go as well as some Republicans expected, many in the party have turned away from Trump and now consider Florida Governor Ron DeSantis the most successful candidate for the post of president. Trump-backed candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives failed, while DeSantis won in a landslide and was re-elected governor.
