Medvedev on a nuclear attack on Ukraine: NATO will not intervene

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmytro Medvedev, believes that Russia can launch a nuclear attack on Ukraine with impunity, as NATO countries will not take steps in response, worrying about their own security.

"Let's imagine that Russia is forced to use the most formidable weapon against the Ukrainian regime, which has committed a large-scale act of aggression, dangerous for the very existence of our state. I believe that NATO will not directly intervene in the conflict even with such a schedule. After all, the security of Washington, London, and Brussels is for the North Atlantic Alliance is much more important than the fate of Ukraine, which no one needs," said the ex-president of the Russian Federation.

Medvedev is convinced that NATO countries are not going to "die in a nuclear apocalypse", and therefore will "swallow the use of any weapon" by Russia.

It should be noted that earlier the press secretary of the White House, Karin-Jean-Pierre, said on September 26 that against the backdrop of Russian President Vladimir Putin's threats to use nuclear weapons, the United States had not yet detected signs that Moscow was preparing to take such a step.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also said that US President Joe Biden's administration has a plan for how to act in the event of Russia's use of nuclear weapons.
