The US vice president will visit the demilitarized zone on the border with North Korea

US Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea during her visit to Asia.

 This is reported by Reuters.

The visit will take place on Thursday, September 29, and should be a signal that Washington is ready to take care of South Korea's defense. It was first announced by Seoul, and later privately confirmed by the American side. The main purpose of Harris' trip to Asia is to attend the funeral of the murdered Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

On Sunday, September 25, North Korea launched another ballistic missile, apparently in response to planned joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States and a visit by Kamala Harris. Pyongyang said it was a short-range ballistic missile and flew about 600 km at an altitude of 60 km.

US President Joe Biden also visited the demilitarized zone before taking office.
